Overview
Job Summary: The Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating group room revenue and achieving monthly sales goals through proactive sales efforts, account management, and client relationship development. This role involves identifying, qualifying, and securing group business opportunities, including meetings, conferences, social events, and room blocks, while maximizing profitability and maintaining the hotel’s brand standards.
Responsibilities
Proactively solicit and secure new group business through sales calls, prospecting, networking, and attending industry events or trade shows.
Manage existing accounts, ensuring repeat business and building long-term client relationships.
Respond promptly to group inquiries and prepare customized proposals, contracts, and follow-up communications.
Conduct site inspections and presentations for potential clients.
Collaborate with the revenue management and operations teams to ensure optimal room block management, space utilization, and group rate integrity.
Maintain accurate records in the sales CRM (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY, etc.) including account details, activities, and booking progress.
Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
Participate in weekly sales strategy and revenue meetings.
Represent the hotel professionally in the community and with industry organizations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
2+ years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in group sales or event sales.
Proven ability to develop and close business.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales management systems (Hilton OnQ R&I, Delphi).
Ability to travel locally and occasionally for tradeshows or client events.
