open/competitive

basis for one (1) position to support the Utilities division of Public Works. The level of the engineer hire will depend on the applicant’s qualifications for either Associate Engineer PE or Associate Engineer NPE. About the Job: The successful candidate will perform engineering analysis, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage projects related to the planning, design, and construction of capital improvement projects under supervision of the Principal Engineer. Responsibilities include guiding analysis, design, and construction teams from project initiation to completion, with projects involving in-house and consultant-led design, possibly using alternative delivery methods. Candidates should possess knowledge of civil infrastructure standards, construction practices, and demonstrate strong communication skills for effective collaboration. About the Department: The Utilities Division manages Everett’s utility systems, including water and sewer services for thousands of residents, operating extensive pipelines, reservoirs, treatment plants, and stormwater systems. Coordinate engineering projects with various city, county, and state agencies. Plan project steps, prepare estimates, schedule data collection, and oversee design and construction activities. Provide technical support during construction, review plans, and ensure compliance with specifications. Assist or lead major and minor construction or design projects as assigned.
