Mass Engineer, Vehicle Attributes Responsibilities
Assist in the development and management of the vehicle mass attribute for the robo-taxi. Support various engineering teams by providing mass and center of gravity (CofG) targets for new vehicle designs. Conduct detailed mass studies on vehicle systems and components to identify areas for optimization and weight savings. Participate in benchmark vehicle teardowns and physical mass measurements to validate and refine mass models. Help in developing and maintaining mass management tools and processes. Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and other engineering groups to ensure mass targets are met throughout the vehicle development cycle. Prepare and present regular mass status reports to stakeholders. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Strong understanding of fundamental engineering principles and mechanics. Experience with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and PDM/PLM systems. Proficiency in data analysis with spreadsheet software and automated scripting tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and MATLAB). Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Passion for the automotive industry and autonomous technology. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with mass modeling and simulation tools. Understanding of complex vehicle systems. Prior internship or project experience related to vehicle or component mass management. Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and its relationship to mass properties. Salary Range:
$105,000-$120,000 The actual salary offered is dependent on factors including location and the candidate’s combination of knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
