EMI Services is excited to announce an opportunity for a Carpenter/Maintenance Mechanic to join our dedicated team. In this role, the individual will carry out maintenance and repair tasks on equipment, specifically as they relate to the skilled trades. The selected candidate will perform both machinery repairs and carpenter duties, demonstrating a diverse skill set. The position requires a well-rounded background in training and hands-on experience to tackle a broad spectrum of maintenance challenges while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Base pay range
$5,032.00/yr - $5,032.00/yr Salary
$50.32/hr. plus employer paid health benefits and pension! Key Responsibilities
Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose sources of trouble Dismantle or partly dismantle machines and perform repairs Replace broken or defective parts Prepare written specifications for major repairs Reassemble machines and make all necessary adjustments for operation Perform carpenter duties to include framing, finish work, painting, staining, etc. Design, construct, install and repair wooden fixtures such as cabinets, furniture, shelving, doors, plaques and other custom wood products Performs other related duties as assigned Essential Skills
Thorough knowledge of theory and methods, materials, tools, equipment and systems used in the trade Thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal codes and regulations pertaining to the trade Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including alterations and repairs Ability to read and understand blueprints relevant to the trade Adaptable and flexible in work situations Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion Practices workplace safety in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies, including proper use of PPE Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years' experience as a carpenter/maintenance mechanic Experience in an industrial or commercial facilities maintenance environment Must have a Top Secret Clearance Must have SCI eligibility Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or ability to obtain one Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check Regular, dependable attendance U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations Preferred Qualifications
TS/SCI clearance Certifications Formal apprenticeship Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces May spend long hours in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain May stand for long periods and frequently work on ladders and scaffolds Work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures and weather conditions Benefits
