TurboFil Packaging Machines is hiring for a Control Systems Engineer to participate in the design, assembly, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for automation projects, and to participate in the validation process at TurboFil and customer sites.
Position location: Lower Westchester, just outside of New York City.

Position summary The Control Systems Engineer will participate in the design, assembly, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for automation projects, and participate in the validation process at TurboFil and customer sites. Responsibilities include ground-up PLC programming, machine interface design, electrical motor control, robot programming, and industrial panel design. The role requires experience in running, debugging, and optimizing automation machines and pharmaceutical machinery validation, strong communication, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn on the job. The Control Systems Engineer will report to the Technical Director and work closely with our team of engineers and machine technicians.
Responsibilities
Programming PLCs using Ladder Logic to perform various mechanical functions
Designing machine interfaces for custom filling systems (primarily for pharmaceuticals)
Programming sensors, vision systems, and robots to integrate into custom machines
Designing electrical panels and documenting electrical schematics in AutoCAD
Collaborating with Mechanical Engineers to feed back issues and improve designs
Writing and executing qualifications and protocols of the FDS/DQ, FAT, SAT, IQ/OQ
Troubleshooting machine control systems to meet specifications
Assisting with FAT at TurboFil and SAT/IQ/OQ at customer facilities
Qualified candidates will have
A Bachelor’s degree and significant professional experience in Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
Understanding of modern industrial control disciplines including motor control, HMI design, PLC programming, instrumentation, and robotics
Experience with Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 and state machine logic
Experience problem-solving and troubleshooting machinery function
Experience drafting electrical schematics
Electrical circuits knowledge including safety wiring, single and three-phase power, AC/DC, and relay wiring
Knowledge of conduit routing, wiring, and panel layout
Experience with electrical component troubleshooting
Basic hands-on mechanical experience
Experience preparing user documentation and testing protocols
Experience with pharmaceutical machine validation
Work schedule and application details This is a full-time, exempt position, with occasional evening and weekend work based on need. Occasional travel to assist with startup and installation at customer sites is expected.
