Overview
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications for a Structural Engineer role with Allied Resources Group (ARG).
Key Responsibilities:
An ability to perform the calculations necessary to support the development of civil & structural details and designs.
Have a working knowledge of applicable industry codes/practices.
Oversee structural drawings, sketches and documents, such as project plans, sections and details with emphasis on steel and concrete design.
Develop technical specifications and construction scope of work documents that meet client requirements for operability, reliability, maintainability, and safety.
Develop project proposals relating to civil/structural engineering scope of work and estimated engineering work hour requirements.
Work with vendors to ensure the equipment design and fabrication drawings have the necessary structural design and design load information.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
Professional Engineer’s license a plus.
Minimum five (5) years of heavy industrial structural experience, preferably in the refinery, chemical, or petrochemical industry.
Required knowledge of industry design standards and codes such as ASCE 7 and IBC.
Experience with accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and safety on projects.
Demonstrated experience with gated project execution procedures such as Front End Loading (FEL).
Proficient in AutoCAD 2D.
Field surveying and site walkdown experience a plus.
Competent with RISA-3D and RISA-Foundation structural engineering software would be a plus.
Experience with interfacing with engineering personnel, construction, operations, reliability, maintenance, HSSE, and environmental departments.
Must be TWIC card certified or eligible. The successful candidate must apply for a TWIC card immediately if he doesn’t possess one.
