Civil / Structural Engineer - Position based in Linden, NJ. This is a full-time role working in the capital project execution group. Job Title and Department

Base pay range: $150,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr This range is provided by Allied Engineering and Design. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. The ideal candidate will have career experience in a refinery, chemical or petrochemical industry and have the following: Perform calculations necessary to support the development of civil & structural details and designs. Work with applicable industry codes/practices. Oversee structural drawings, sketches and documents, such as project plans, sections and details with emphasis on steel and concrete design. Proficient in AutoCAD (2-D). Develop technical specifications and construction scope of work documents that meet client requirements for operability, reliability, maintainability, and safety. Develop project proposals relating to civil/structural engineering scope of work and estimated engineering work hour requirements. Competent with RISA-3D and RISA-Foundation; software experience is a plus. Required Skills and Qualifications
A BS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Knowledge of industry design standards and codes such as ASCE 7 and IBC. Field surveying and site walkdown experience is a plus. Collaborate with vendors to ensure equipment design and fabrication drawings include necessary structural design and design load information. Experience with accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and safety on projects. Familiarity with gated project execution procedures such as Front End Loading (FEL). Experience interfacing with engineering personnel, construction, operations, reliability, maintenance, HSSE, and environmental departments. Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering. Professional Engineer’s license a plus. Minimum five (5) years of experience, preferably in the refinery, chemical, or petrochemical industry. TWIC card certification or eligibility. Experience Level
Mid-level Engineer. 5-10 years of experience. Location, Work Environment & Employment Type
Location: Linden, NJ. Full-time role in the capital project execution group. 40-hour workweek; additional hours may be required if projects are in construction. All time spent on site is paid. Employment Type: Full-time. Ideal Candidate Profile
Strong and fluent verbal and written English communication skills. Team player with drive to deliver against commitments. Experience with client relationships, collaboration, and coordination. Self-starter, independent and adaptable to challenges; interfaces directly with the client’s representative as necessary. Interview Process
