will serve as a divisional expert in electrical controls. This role is responsible for leading the specification, design, and commissioning of major capital projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and with a strong commitment to safety. The position will provide project leadership, technical expertise, and consultation across manufacturing facilities in North America. This position will require between 20-30% travel as needed across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Senior Electrical Project Engineer Responsibilities: Capital Project Leadership (70%): Lead low-voltage (575VAC and below) electrical and controls engineering disciplines for major capital projects. Manage contract engineering resources to ensure design and commissioning activities are executed properly. Develop and manage electrical scopes, budgets, and design packages. Lead creation and execution of project commissioning plans. Ensure safety through design and commissioning processes, targeting zero injuries. Deliver projects on time and on budget, from scope and estimates through startup and commissioning. Drive efficiency and automation in design and project execution. Manage diverse project types, including greenfield, brownfield, rebuilds/retooling, and automation/innovation projects. Electrical Technical Improvements (20%): Lead and manage electrical aspects of multiple technical projects simultaneously. Define control strategies, direct programming resources, and coordinate commissioning/startup. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and engineering best practices. Introduce emerging technologies to improve product quality, uptime, and operational efficiency. Subject Matter Expertise & Consultation (10%): Provide consultation and troubleshooting support for plant control systems. Ensure PLC/HMI systems are properly configured for efficiency and reliability. Drive electrical safety initiatives including lockout/tagout, control reliability, and interlocks. Act as a technical leader and resource for plant and business stakeholders. Senior Electrical Project Engineer Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. 5+ years of professional electrical engineering project execution experience. 3+ years in manufacturing environments. Experience leading capital electrical projects >$1MM. Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley or Siemens controls platforms. Solid understanding of OT Ethernet networking. Proven ability to deliver electrical project scopes, budgets, and commissioning activities. Experience collaborating with cross-functional disciplines on capital projects. Strong project leadership and execution skills. Deep understanding of electrical codes and compliance requirements. Expertise in writing scopes, cost estimates, contractor bid packages, and evaluating vendor proposals. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Skilled in data-driven decision-making for cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of motor controls, programmable controllers, instrumentation, feedback systems, control system networks, and supervisory computer/data acquisition systems. Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, control valves, and servo systems. Continuous manufacturing environment background preferred. Greenfield and/or brownfield project execution is preferred. Experience integrating systems with Ignition preferred. ePLAN experience preferred. Leadership experience with technical engineering resources preferred. Seniority level
