Overview

RK&K is seeking Construction Inspectors and Construction Engineers experienced in water/wastewater and utility construction inspection, or knowledgeable in infrastructure construction and/or water/wastewater engineering, and interested in applying this knowledge on construction sites. This role supports multiple Field Engineering and Inspection projects throughout Baltimore, MD and the surrounding counties. Construction Inspectors work independently on project sites but collaborate with project managers, project engineers, construction managers, and other team members to provide construction services on water, wastewater, stormwater, and related infrastructure projects. Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections of water/wastewater, stormwater, utilities and related facilities construction projects to verify compliance with approved plans, codes, and safety regulations (e.g., pipeline and manhole rehabilitation, stormwater and sewer facilities, water filtration and wastewater facilities). Provide field engineering, construction management and contract support services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, RFIs, correspondence, change requests, and change orders) on site and in office. Ensure construction workmanship and materials adhere to established industry standards and project specifications. Accurately document all inspection activities with daily reports and organized field files. Oversee and coordinate material testing activities to ensure materials meet project specifications. Conduct field measurements to document quantities for pay items and other contract administration documents. Participate in closeout activities, including preparation of punch lists and final inspection reports. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and project teams, including other disciplines such as cost estimators and designers. Required Skills and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent Independent self-starter, versatile, and able to work on various projects supporting Utilities, CEI, and Water & Wastewater Groups Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, engineering reports and test results Strong communication and collaboration skills Proficiency in organizing, retrieving, and presenting construction documentation Knowledge of building codes, estimating, and general contractor pricing strategies Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Project, Excel) and tablet-based PDF annotators MD Driver’s License and suitable driving record Preferred Skills and Experience

1–3+ years of project experience in construction administration and inspection of water, wastewater, stormwater facilities and infrastructure (pipelines, force mains, pump stations, treatment) or related field Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, or related construction field Current MD Construction Certifications or similar training NASSCO CIPP, Manhole Rehabilitation, confined space, concrete, traffic control certifications Related roles: Field Engineer, Inspector, resident engineer, QA/QC roles, Project Administrator, and others Other Duties
