Provides direct and indirect patient care in the critical care setting. Communicates with Physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Performs general nursing duties in all departments with supervision. Participates in performance improvement activities. Demonstrates knowledge of the mission and core values. Requires one year or more of documented acute care experience within the past two years. Meets unit expectations, completes skills checklist for the unit and all mandatory education programs, and actively participates in team nursing and/or total care nursing. Able to delegate assignments and evaluate during shift needs of the unit, patients and coworkers. Responsibilities

Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and clinical condition Follow the five medication rights to reduce potential for medication errors Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results Perform head-to-toe assessments for patients across age groups; conduct reassessments per policy Assess and manage pain; educate patient and family on pain management; document appropriately Provide care that supports patient safety and reduces medical/health care errors Formulate and revise an individualized plan of care; document outcomes in Meditech Develop and implement teaching plans with patient and family involvement Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring, identify dysrhythmias, and respond per ACLS protocol Provide care for patients with nutritional/metabolic and fluid/electrolyte needs Communicate clearly with Charge Nurse, coworkers, physicians, and other departments Coordinate and supervise patient care as needed; assist physicians with ED procedures Remain flexible, organized, and able to function under stress Respect and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs; act as liaison among administration, patients, and providers Provide age-appropriate care and interpret data to identify age-specific needs Maintain professional relationships within the department and with other departments Ensure documentation meets current standards and policies Assess and care for patients in the post-anesthesia period in the Emergency Department Qualifications & Skills

Physical ability to perform nursing duties including turning, positioning, and lifting Triage experience helpful Accountable to Department Manager and Nursing Administration Effective communication in English (verbal and written); additional languages preferred Current California Registered Nurse License Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS Certification Successful documented/observed competency during orientation Basic computer knowledge Education & Experience

Minimum of one year acute care experience within the past two years in an accredited hospital (preferred) Minimum of one year working in an Emergency Department (preferred) Employment Type & Schedule

Full-time, Nights Compensation

Pay: $63.00 - $85.00 per hour. The posted pay range is based on experience and established in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Benefits
