Red Wing Shoe Co. This role is based out of Red Wing's headquarters in Red Wing, MN, with a HyFlex work model that blends in-office work availability with remote flexibility. The candidate must live within a commutable distance to Red Wing, MN to maximize collaboration, efficiency, and community. We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Managing Director, Wholesale to lead our Wholesale business channel, responsible for the development and execution of business development strategies to grow wholesale in alignment with broader NA Work, Hunt, Lifestyle and DTC business objectives. This role will lead the Key Account and Independent Account Sales Directors, ensuring effective execution of the strategies in the field and attainment of revenue and profitability goals. They are responsible for working collaboratively with the Industrial and DTC sales leaders as well as Product Creation, Demand Planning, Marketing, Finance, Revenue Operations and other RWSC cross functional teams supporting the Field Sales Organizations to drive profitable revenue growth. Responsibilities Define and execute the North America Wholesale growth strategy for Red Wing Work, Irish Setter Work, Hunt and Lifestyle categories in collaboration with cross-functional corporate partners and field sales leaders.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key retail partners across North America.
Partner with Revenue Operations, Industrial and DTC leaders to drive channel alignment and maximize growth opportunities across all channels.
Create and nurture profitable customer relationships by partnering with large customers and industry partners to build and deliver annual and long‑range growth plans.
Collaborate with Product Creation, Marketing and Revenue Operations to define product assortment and segmentation strategies, build and execute channel go-to-market plans and grow market share across each product category and sub-channel.
Leverage sales team and customer intel along with insights and analytics to inform monthly SIOP forecasting and annual planning processes to ensure inventory readiness.
Work cross-functionally to deploy and enable adoption of processes, tools, selling programs and training in support of Wholesale strategies; ensure the sales team uses the sales methodology, manages pipelines, and is accountable for achieving annual revenue goals.
Forecast requirements, prepare annual budgets, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions to achieve financial objectives.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university and a minimum of five years of related leadership experience in sales management, business, marketing, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with a CRM (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
Demonstrated success in leading sales teams in a highly networked organization and in creating and implementing successful sales initiatives across various channels.
Experience in selling premium footwear/workwear is preferred.
Strong relationship-building skills to manage long-term relationships with key accounts, distributors, and retail partners.
Financial acumen with ability to assess opportunities, develop strategic account plans, and drive revenue growth.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence, negotiate, and build lasting relationships with stakeholders and customers.
Ability to identify customer needs, deliver tailored solutions, and close high-impact deals aligned with business goals.
Experience leading high-performing sales teams, managing pipelines, and consistently exceeding KPIs.
Technologically proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and capable of leveraging digital platforms for development and communication.
