Senior Automation Technician
Location: Denver, CO 80219 Schedule: Full-Time Overview Senior Automation Service Technician is a designated customer advocate who will assist in providing tailored service and support. This role is well suited to an individual with strong technical skills who enjoys solving problems as well as working directly with people. The position involves up to 50% travel to commission and service systems in the field, while also supporting the Service and Controls team in-house. The Senior Automation Service Technician will spend time in-house at the Denver facility providing remote support and supporting the in-house Testing & Controls team during factory acceptance testing on new equipment. A willingness to learn, problem-solve, and think quickly is key. General mechanical aptitude and electrical understanding are also important for the role. What You’ll Do
Provide remote customer support: fielding calls/emails/messages and being on-call during designated hours Provide on-site support (up to 50% travel) to expedite resolution in critical situations Manage support cases: record, track, and resolve issues with timely follow-ups and thorough documentation in the ticketing system Serve as a subject matter expert on NOVA and integrated equipment Support NOVA's in-house Testing & Controls team Support NOVA's Field Service Engineers and Technicians Demonstrate alignment with NOVA's Mission, Vision, and Values What You’ll Need
Customer-focused with the ability to provide a top-tier service experience Ability to thrive in challenging, high-pressure environments Strong troubleshooting skills on complex customer engagements High attention to detail in all duties, including administrative and documentation tasks Extensive mechanical aptitude and deep understanding of machine theory Programming and Electrical Aptitude: 5+ years' experience in Electrical Knowledge, Computer Programming, Controls and Systems Engineering, and Robotics Deep understanding of components, drives, ethernet/ethernet IP, industrial IoT, machine safety, motion control, servo drives, and related networks Ability to modify/build ladder logic programs for CompactLogix, RSLogix, and Siemens controls Robotic programming/troubleshooting for Kawasaki & Yaskawa robots; Kuka & Fanuc programming is a plus Experience with VFDs (e.g., Allen-Bradley PowerFlex), Eaton, SEW Eurodrive Servos – Allen Bradley, Yaskawa; SERCOS interfaces HMI programming: Pro-face, FactoryTalk View Studio, RSView, PanelBuilder, Siemens ProTool Troubleshooting PLC control systems, I/O checks, and ladder logic edits Knowledge of Rockwell Automation RS500/RS5000 or Siemens S7; Allen-Bradley/Siemens PLC platforms Experience with various PLC platforms and Lab/Operator training Experience providing operator and maintenance training Who We Are
