Senior Civil Engineer (Land Development)
in our
Sioux Falls, SD
office. As a Civil Engineer, you will provide leadership, mentoring, and training for less experienced staff, which could involve technical, project management, marketing, or business development responsibilities. Some key duties and responsibilities include: Makes major design recommendations and decisions with minimal input from senior staff; plans design work by discipline for projects of all sizes; reviews junior staff correspondence; actively participates in quality control; and contributes to technical leadership. Contributes to leadership within our Technical Operations Team for projects of various sizes. Acts as an advisor, analyzes technical problems, and writes reports. Participates in project reviews for quality control, especially on large, complex projects. Provides technical assistance on field issues, visiting project sites as needed to resolve technical problems with little assistance. OR Project Management Path: Serves effectively as Project Manager on large or multiple smaller projects. Identifies prospective clients, assists with marketing, and prepares proposals. Braises new or existing client relationships and participates in presentations. Performs other duties as assigned. Key skills and abilities needed for the position are: Ability to perform all duties of Civil Project Engineer II with demonstrated leadership traits. Mastery of technical aspects of civil engineering. Mentoring, motivating, and leadership skills. Ability to perform final quality checks. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Education and experience requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with at least 8 years of experience. Professional Engineer license. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
