Senior Mobile HVAC Technician – JLL
What this job involves:
Join our elite mobile engineering team as a Senior HVAC Technician, providing specialized technical expertise for large commercial HVAC systems and chillers across the Miami, FL market. This role focuses on advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex mechanical systems in high-profile commercial facilities. You'll leverage your extensive experience with large-scale equipment to ensure optimal system performance while mentoring junior technicians and driving operational excellence across multiple properties. What your day-to-day will look like: Perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on large commercial HVAC equipment including chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and building automation systems Conduct comprehensive system evaluations and prepare detailed technical reports on equipment performance, deficiencies, and recommended improvements Execute emergency response protocols for critical HVAC system failures, ensuring minimal downtime for commercial tenants Lead preventive maintenance programs for complex mechanical systems while utilizing JLL CMMS (Corrigo) for work order management and performance tracking Collaborate with facility engineers and operations teams to develop long-term maintenance strategies and capital improvement recommendations Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance on complex repairs and system optimization Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for specialized parts procurement and technical support on advanced equipment Required Qualifications: Universal EPA 608 Certification (Universal) Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in commercial HVAC with specific expertise in large tonnage equipment (100+ tons) Proven experience with chiller systems including centrifugal, screw, and absorption chillers Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record Advanced knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and DDC controls Physical ability to work in mechanical rooms, lift up to 75 lbs., and work at heights up to 30 feet Availability for emergency on-call rotation and overtime as business needs require Preferred Qualifications: Experience with major chiller manufacturers (Trane, Carrier, York, McQuay) HVAC journeyman license or equivalent trade certification Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and energy management systems Background in commercial facility management or corporate real estate environments Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and energy efficiency best practices Experience training and mentoring technical staff Location:
