18-month Essentials of Manufacturing (EOM) program empowers engineers to step into the future of the industry. Throughout the program, you’ll be exposed to classroom-based E-learnings, hands-on action-based learning in operational environments, and travel to multiple Saint-Gobain manufacturing sites. The program provides participants a full-time operational role designed to improve manufacturing skills and exposure to Saint-Gobain North America. Program activities kickoff each year in July and end 18 months later in December of the following year. Time split between local site projects and EOM program activities is 80:20 respectively. Some examples of specific responsibilities include: Providing engineering support for site process improvements. Supporting capital expenditure projects / new equipment installations. Supporting safety / sustainability initiatives at the plant. Implementing new automation processes at the site. Analyzing existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction and quality improvement. All participants will work with our dedicated Human Resources team to find an operational role in one of our nearly 160 sites throughout North America after program completion. Final placement is not guaranteed, but most EOM Engineer graduates are able to choose from multiple Saint-Gobain sites for final placement offers. Requirements and Qualifications
Qualifications B.S. in an engineering discipline (Mechanical). Internship experience in manufacturing or professional setting is a plus. Valid passport required for international travel to Canada. Candidates should possess A desire to travel and the flexibility to be mobile. A desire to learn and leave your comfort zone. A desire to be a part of a community and cohort. Ability to work and communicate well with others in a team environment. Please note, due to the timing of the EOM program, immigration sponsorship is not provided. Why Join Us / Program Details
EXPOSURE: Every three months, spend approximately one week at a different plant in North America with the rest of your EOM Cohort—learning about our businesses, products, and operations and building camaraderie. Travel may occur to any manufacturing site in the United States or Canada. (Participants must have valid travel documentation, including a passport.) MENTORSHIP: Navigate through large and diverse business units alongside a dedicated mentor, who shares knowledge and advice essential to success and career development. CHALLENGE: Work on projects that are a priority to the business and will challenge your skills, with trainings to grow technical and business skillsets in lean manufacturing, data analytics, project management, and more. IMPACT: Focus on impact from Day 1, with empowerment and responsibility for concrete results, plus participation in Saint-Gobain Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that foster diversity and inclusion. GLOBAL: Saint-Gobain operates in over 70 countries.
