The Faculty Talent Manager in the Tickle College of Engineering is responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive faculty talent management programs. This position drives faculty recruitment and retention efforts, external awards nominations, professional development, and compensation strategies. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, the Faculty Talent Manager will develop strategies to attract, retain, and develop faculty talent within the Tickle College of Engineering. This role leads initiatives and creates the program for faculty professional development, oversees compensation structures and strategies, coordinates faculty external award nominations, and supports recruitment processes. Responsibilities
Faculty Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies for attracting top-tier faculty candidates. Collaborate with departments to ensure alignment with institutional goals. Retention Initiatives: Design programs and initiatives aimed at retaining high-performing faculty members. Provide resources for career advancement and professional development. Utilize data-driven approaches to assess faculty needs and measure the effectiveness of talent management strategies. Professional Development: Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to support faculty growth in areas such as pedagogy, career planning, student mentorship, networking and collaboration, project management, and leadership skills. Compensation and Awards: Utilize data-driven approaches to assess compensation through including but not limited to compiling data on startup funds, curating salary surveys, developing/refining an award program, and retention strategies. Qualifications
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in any field. Experience:
Minimum of 5 years combined experience in higher education, program development, program management, program analytics, and/or HR talent management. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to use databases and analytical tools. Skill in presenting data graphically. Proficiency in computer-based and online search tools to conduct effective searches for desired information. Preferred Qualifications Education:
Master’s degree in Human Resources or Higher Education Administration. Experience:
5 years working directly with higher education faculty on professional development. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of methods of teaching in higher education and assessment of faculty teaching effectiveness. Knowledge of metrics used to evaluate faculty performance. Ability to use databases of faculty information to analyze faculty performance metrics. Ability to use on-line search tools and software to identify high performing faculty across the US. Knowledge of higher education faculty and compensation processes.
