Summary

The Construction Engineer position is a managerial role essential for planning, execution, and completion of solar construction projects. Responsibilities include project coordination, material procurement, permit management, and quality control, while supporting project staff and trades. The role emphasizes safety, environmental stewardship, and clear communication with stakeholders. This position reports to the Site Manager or another designated management person and is project-based with hybrid working hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm local time). Overtime and weekend work may be required. Travel up to 100% may be expected.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the execution of project deliverables, ensuring timelines and standards are met. Lead procurement processes and coordinate engineering solutions with project personnel. Acquire and sustain necessary permits and ensure adherence to project specifications. Enhance team collaboration and communication with all project stakeholders. Supervise generation and organization of project reports and technical documents; maintain project documentation controls. Provide operational support to superintendents, including timekeeping, resource allocation, and quality management. Demonstrate leadership in safety; conduct job hazard analyses and promote safe work practices. Enforce environmental policies by overseeing field staff training and certifications. Support professional development of Field Engineers through development plans and certifications. Foster relationships with third parties and meet client expectations with strong communication. Maintain regular attendance as required by policy and supervisory assignments. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by Management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or related field, plus 2 years construction experience, or 5+ years in a related field. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with construction scheduling, CPM logic, and best practices. Demonstrated ability to support projects: development, planning, installation, and execution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness to travel full-time. Fluent in written and spoken English. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
