Overview
Job Title: Production Supervisor – Injection Molding / Plastics Manufacturing Position Summary: We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Production Supervisor with strong leadership experience in injection molding and plastics manufacturing. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity goals are consistently met. This role requires a strong understanding of injection molding machines, tooling, materials, and troubleshooting processes, as well as the ability to lead and develop a high-performing team. Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day operations of injection molding production lines, including setup, start-up, and shut down of machines. Lead, coach, and develop a team of machine operators, technicians, and production staff. Monitor production schedules to meet customer orders and delivery deadlines. Ensure compliance with safety policies, company procedures, and regulatory standards (OSHA, ISO, etc.). Oversee mold changes, machine setups, and troubleshooting of molding processes to minimize downtime. Maintain product quality standards by enforcing quality checks and resolving production issues. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams on equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and process improvements. Track production metrics (OEE, scrap rates, downtime) and implement corrective actions when targets are not met. Maintain accurate documentation of production reports, labor hours, and material usage. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen) to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. Support training and cross-training programs to improve workforce flexibility. Qualifications
3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics/injection molding). Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, materials, and machine operations (experience with Milacron, Engel, Haitian, or similar machinery a plus). Proven ability to lead teams of 15–25 employees in a fast-paced production environment. Solid problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills. Familiarity with regulatory compliance such as ISO, AIB, or SQF standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems. Strong communication skills (bilingual Spanish/English a plus).
