Description Job Summary: Join IGN Entertainment, the leading media brand for games, movies, TV, comics, and more. As a National Sales Manager on the Gaming & Entertainment vertical, you will connect brands with our highly engaged audience through innovative advertising solutions. This role focuses on crafting 360 campaigns that resonate with our audience and deliver results for partners. You will close deals spanning standard media, programmatic, branded content, licensing, events, and social-first programs with client-direct and agency partners. The ideal candidate has deep digital advertising knowledge, a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, and a passion for gaming, entertainment, and pop culture.
Job Responsibilities
Campaign Development & Revenue Generation:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to identify, target, and acquire new clients and agencies within the gaming and entertainment verticals.
Drive revenue growth by exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets across offerings including standard media, programmatic, branded content, licensing, events, and social-first programs.
Craft compelling, custom 360-degree advertising solutions aligned to client objectives.
Prepare capabilities and pitch presentations tailored to client needs and KPIs.
Negotiate and close complex advertising deals with favorable terms and strong partnerships.
Relationship Management & Business Development:
Leverage and grow client and agency relationships while forging new connections within the industry (media agencies, streaming platforms, film studios, social networks, sports, game publishers).
Act as a trusted advisor to understand client objectives and provide strategic insights and recommendations.
Pitch and demonstrate IGN Entertainment’s value proposition to advertisers.
Market Expertise & Collaboration:
Stay informed on industry trends, competition, and new ad technologies in digital advertising, social media, gaming, and entertainment.
Identify opportunities and contribute to new advertising solutions.
Collaborate with internal teams (Account Management, Ad Operations, Branded Content, Events, Social, Business Intelligence) to ensure campaign execution and client satisfaction.
Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
5+ years of digital advertising sales experience with a focus on gaming and/or entertainment verticals.
Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas, particularly with 360-degree campaigns.
Knowledge of digital advertising technologies and platforms (programmatic, video, mobile, paid social, ad servers, CTV, DMPs).
Strong understanding of the gaming ecosystem and/or entertainment landscape.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Creative, proactive approach to problem-solving and campaign development.
Ability to build and maintain strong client and agency relationships; capable of cultivating new ones.
Strategic thinker with analytical abilities; self-motivated and organized; able to work independently or in a team.
Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
Not Required, but Helpful:
Existing network within the gaming/entertainment advertising space.
Passion for entertainment, gaming, and pop culture.
Experience with specific ad tech platforms or ad formats relevant to content-driven publishers.
Work Environment
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F, with occasional extended hours for client services, campaign reporting, and events.
Travel: Some travel may be required.
Physical Requirements: Standard office-based activities; long periods of sitting or computer work.
Work Model: Hybrid position in Los Angeles; requires office presence at least 3 days per week (Tue-Thu).
