Job Summary:

The Cardiovascular Technician I-IV serves as an assistant to the Cardiologist and/or the nurse in the performance of diagnostic procedures performed in the non-invasive Cardiac Diagnostic department. Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities Assists in performing exercise and pharmaceutical stress testing including patient preparation, vital signs, recognition of arrhythmias, and documentation of results. Performs 12 lead EKG procedures for the adult and geriatric population. Edits transmitted EKGs in the database and completes appropriate documentation processes. Provides procedure instructions regarding Holter monitoring, event monitoring, and stress testing within the scope of the position. Prepares Holter monitor documentation for interruption by the Cardiologist and documents Holter monitor procedures appropriately. Performs event monitor and Holter monitor hook-up, acquires a baseline recording and completes paperwork according to policy and procedure. Participates in Radiation Safety principles to ensure patient and staff safety for radiation protection to achieve ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) exposures for patients and staff. Staff are expected to perform other duties as assigned. Job duties may change with or without notice. Work is subject to schedule changes and/or variable hours. Qualifications Required Qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Graduate of technical or certification program with training in the performance of 12 lead EKGs (e.g. EMT program). National EKG Certification required within 12 months of hire. Must pass EKG examination within 90 days of hire and maintain competency throughout employment in Cardiovascular Services. Current JPS recognized BLS certification upon hire and maintained current throughout employment in Cardiovascular Services. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in scanning Holter monitors or performing stress testing. ACLS certification. Location Address: 1400 S.
