Overview
Physician Assistant, Neurosurgical (Full Time, Days) at NorthBay Health. The Neurosurgical Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for performing the assessment of selected patients within the designated service line, conducting history and physical examinations, and coordinating patient care in collaboration with the department to ensure quality care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities
Rotating 4 day, 10 hour shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily. No nights, no weekends, no on-call requirements. Mix of critical care, inpatient, outpatient and surgical responsibilities. Work across units including ICU, OR, step-down, med/surg, and surgicenter. Outpatient clinic duties (independent pre-op, post-op and hospital follow-up clinics; tandem clinics with Neurosurgeon). OR first assist. Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program approved by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Licensure/Credentials
Current Physician Assistant licensure by the State of California Physician Assistant Examining Committee and Board Certified. AHA or equivalent CPR required. Maintains a current DEA license for schedule II drugs. Experience
Experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant practicing in a related field, or completion of internship in the Neurosciences at NorthBay. Demonstrates ability to evaluate patient’s physical and emotional status. Demonstrates ability to provide patient care based on age-related needs. Knowledge and skill in caring for adults, adolescents, pediatric and geriatric patients. Proficiency with computer tools (MS Word, Outlook); Cerner knowledge preferred. Hourly salary range: Min $85.43 – Max $103.82 (offered hourly rate based on years of experience). About Us
