Overview

Rutgers University, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ, are seeking an MD/DO physician to provide direct patient care in the Division of Emergency Medicine (EM). The physician candidate should be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The role includes clinical and teaching responsibilities with potential opportunities to participate in research with other faculty members. The Division currently provides 24/7 in-house EM coverage with 10 full-time faculty members. The clinical services are conducted at RWJUH in New Brunswick, NJ, adjacent to the Bristol Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital (BMSCH), a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center and a 105-bed acute care hospital on Rutgers’ pediatric health campus. The BMSCH is ranked among America’s Best Hospitals by U.S. News and World Report. The Department of Pediatrics has a full complement of pediatric subspecialists. Outpatient services are at the Child Health Institute of New Jersey. The department supports collaborative research with emphasis on mechanisms of disease, novel therapies, epidemiology and outcomes research related to childhood diseases. The Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine is consistently highly NIH-funded, and Rutgers is a member of the Association of American Universities. Adjacent to the Children’s Hospital is the PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital, one of the country’s largest inpatient acute rehabilitation hospitals for children. Across the street is the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only NCI-designated center, and the Ronald MacDonald House. MD or DO degree. Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Academic appointment commensurate with achievement and involvement in clinical, teaching and potential research activities.
