Prepare project planning including but not limited to work scopes, responsible matrix, manhours, and software, interface matrix.
Prepare Master Document List (MDL) for overall piping design related work scopes with forecast date based on the Master Project Schedule.
Align piping design input data and need date with stakeholders to define the piping design output forecast date.
Review and monitor project budget related to piping, especially for manhours, software utilization, exotic and high-cost materials, warehouse balance material utilization, etc.
Lead piping engineers and designers for project execution or monitor work by engineering design house where applicable.
Review and monitor engineering design progress related to piping work scopes.
Prepare and raise technical queries (TQF) and engineering variation orders (EVO) related to piping for additional work scopes.
Align piping design outputs (such as piping isometric drawings, pipe spool drawings) with construction to ensure all information is incorporated.
Understand department and project-specific design workflows, contract specifications, and project requirements.
Understand Class and Regulatory Requirements, Piping, Special Items, and Valve Material Specifications.
Understand P&ID and piping routine requirements, equipment layout plans, and non-piping design requirements such as fabrication, erection, QA/QC, testing, and commissioning.
Ensure all work meets scope, technical quality, and project requirements.
Monitor P&ID revisions and ensure compliance between piping 3D models and latest P&ID.
Monitor design input needs, data required for piping design, and review clashes, comments, and interface points.
Monitor piping procurement, surplus materials, hold items, and piping weight development.
Establish proper communication workflows between piping stress teams, pipe routine, pipe support designers, and construction teams.
Review piping arrangements, isometric, supports drawings, calculations, and vendor proposals.
Control drawing revisions, ensure database completeness, and interface with vendors and other disciplines.
Support site inspections, construction, QA/QC, and other activities like coating, painting, welding, testing, etc.
Job Requirements
At least 8 years of piping engineering experience or similar activities.
Experience in Offshore/Shipyard projects, Rig building/Shipbuilding, FPSO projects (topsides & marine).
Good knowledge of Topside Piping Design, Planning, and International standards (ASME, ASTM, API, Classification Society Rules).
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Skills in Excel, AutoCAD, Naviswork, Smart Plant, Aveva, Cadmatic, etc.
