Learn more about Trident II D5 fleet Ballistic Missile. As a Survivability Staff Engineer, you will lead and/or support the Specialty Engineering team in one or more of the following areas:

Applying electrical, electronics, and physics theories to execute various tasks related to the Survivability engineering field

Ensuring that missile designs, from the component level to the system level, will meet performance requirements during and after exposure to specified environments; these environments include natural space and man-made nuclear radiation

Conducting technical planning, specification requirements derivation, test and analysis, design, planning and execution, documentation, and requirements/validation to support overall system needs and act as a technical consultant for management and customers

Joining a Survivability Engineering group and partnering with other authorities

Serving in a technical lead role, both independently and with others, in executing Survivability tasks and delivering results, while maintaining collaboration with other Survivability Engineers within the FBM program

Mentoring junior engineers within Survivability Engineering

To be successful, you will typically have at least 9 years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, 7 years with a Master's degree, or 4 years with a related PhD.

Basic Qualifications Skill Requirements:

Proven experience in circuit simulation and modeling for design of electronic circuits, with an expertise in device physics

Experience in man-made nuclear and natural space radiation environments, with a focus on nuclear hardness and survivability engineering

Security Clearance / Work Authorization:

To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen

Active Secret clearance is necessary to be considered and is the minimum level of clearance required prior to start

Candidates must have the ability to obtain (and maintain) a Top Secret security clearance for long-term employment on this program

Desired Skills

Rad Hard By Design (RHBD) electronics design and architecture experience

Experience using electrical engineering simulation tools and software for performing analyses (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE, PSPICE)

Experience in circuit simulation and modeling for design, worst case analysis, nuclear survivability, electrical overstress, and failure analysis

Experience with EEEE components and radiation testing (e.g., TID, SEE, nDD) and test facilities

Experience with radiation software tools (PUFF-TFT, MCNP, CEPXS, NOVICE, Srim/Trim, Geant4, etc.)

Missile or space segment design/test experience with subsystems outside Systems Engineering

Experience supporting anomaly resolution teams

Ability to lead multi-functional teams and coordinate work with common goals

Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment

Computer skills including Microsoft Office and SharePoint

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related engineering discipline with approximately 9+ years of experience

Active Top Secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely:

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee will work part of their schedule remotely and part at a Lockheed Martin facility. Specific weekly schedule will be discussed during hiring.

9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in specified states is $104,500 - $184,115, with location-based adjustments. This is a general guideline and offers consider scope, experience, and market conditions.
