Overview

The Aviation Mechanic performs a full range of airframe and engine maintenance, repairs, modifications, inspections and servicing of aircraft in accordance with approved methods, techniques and practices and certifies accomplished work. This is a Skillbridge opportunity for transitioning military personnel seeking civilian opportunities to start a fulfilling career. Locations: Kirtland AFB, NM; Cannon AFB, NM; Birmingham, AL; Fort Rucker, AL; Hurlburt Field, FL; Eglin, FL. Essential Functions

Perform Aircraft Maintenance IAW instructions/drawings Troubleshoot systems as required to meet customer needs Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requirements Maintain a high state of cleanliness and utilize a clean-as-you-go process during maintenance duties; perform rotating break room cleaning duties Perform regular Foreign Object Damage (FOD) walks Comply with processes and procedures as per DHS/Department of Defense (DOD) documents and publications Maintain control tools; report missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the supervisor; inventory and inspect tools regularly and replace worn or broken tools Comply with safety rules and regulations; promptly report accidents, injuries, safety violations, and unsafe practices to the supervisor Use Government computer system to access technical references for airframe repairs and Government training requirements Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, ventilation, and heating systems Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and components using appropriate tools and equipment Troubleshoot engines and systems and use Federal Supply systems Replace or repair worn or damaged components such as alternators, fuel controls, pumps, engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves Remove engines and gearboxes from aircraft using hoist or forklift Disassemble and inspect airframe and components; repair or replace defective parts and reassemble Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections Perform miscellaneous duties to service aircraft (e.g., flushing crankcase, cleaning screens/filters, greasing moving parts, checking brakes) Perform jacking and towing of aircraft Enter maintenance records and verify work performed satisfactorily Service engines and airframe components at line station to keep aircraft in safe operating condition Research technical manuals and publications to determine repair or replacement methods Perform progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other inspections Inspect engines for cracks and leaks; listen for malfunctions and diagnose Inspect jet engine turbine blades for defects and test engine operation with appropriate equipment Perform full system checkouts and complete servicing on all aircraft systems Provide technical direction to Aircraft Mechanic Helpers and Aircraft Workers Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have direct reports. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

May require knowledge of and experience performing maintenance on aircraft such as UH-60 A/L, UH-60 M, AH-64 D, AH-64E, CH-47 F, MC-130J, HC-130, C-130, C-26, T-38, CV22, V22 Capacity to lift up to 40 pounds; heavier items require assistance Ability to perform tasks in cramped or awkward positions and/or climb ladders, platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures Capability to perform tasks requiring lifting, reaching, bending, walking, pulling, sitting, standing, crouching, kneeling, and stretching for prolonged periods Ability to read and interpret aircraft instruments and documents; use test equipment Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Interpersonal skills to work with management, staff, and external contacts; professional representation of Yulista Aviation, Inc. Trustworthy with confidential information Ability to use general office equipment Ability to follow processes and deliver strong customer service; analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate issues to management Willingness to learn corporate policies and procedures and apply them to Yulista Aviation, Inc. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and work independently; multi-tasking capability Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent with 4 years' experience, including 2 years using military standards and specifications Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Strong communication skills Ability to pass a drug and background screening Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance Preference Statement
