Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Summary The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and support of HVAC and electromechanical systems. This includes the creation of detailed 3D models, engineering documentation, performance analysis, and manufacturing integration. The ideal candidate will combine strong design skills with a hands-on approach to testing and product support. Responsibilities · Design mechanical HVAC systems, including chilled water loops, air-cooled refrigeration, and pumping systems · Develop and maintain BOMs, assembly and installation drawings, and refrigeration schematics · Perform thermal and structural engineering calculations · Ensure product compliance with UL, NEC, and other regulatory standards · Provide engineering support for product installation, testing, and troubleshooting · Collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, field service, and production · Assist in the creation of technical documentation and customer literature Qualifications · BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline · 3–5 years of experience in a mechanical design role within a manufacturing or product company · SolidWorks proficiency required · Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and HVAC principles · Familiarity with common mechanical components (pumps, valves, motors, etc.) · Experience with NEC, UL, or similar regulatory standards · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Hands-on mindset and comfort working in both office and manufacturing/test environments
