The team specializes in delivering Data Centers facility planning, design, engineering, construction, technology, and energy services to clients. The Opportunity Lead the delivery of design-only, design-build, and construction-only projects in Electrical Engineering deliverables for Data Centers projects. Provide subject matter expertise in the area of Data Center design. Train and develop early career and/or inexperienced professionals. Work with a collaborative team of engineers experienced in Data Center projects. Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers and interact in a client-facing/business development role. Support business development, including developing scope-of-work, level-of-effort, and site visits to understand the scope of the pursuit. Continuously develop technical expertise. Location This role will support projects primarily for North America. The ideal candidate will be located or willing to relocate to Overland Park, KS, or one of the following Regional Office Locations: Canonsburg, PA; Charlotte, NC; Cary, NC; Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ. Key Responsibilities Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes. May own or develop engineering standards and guides; provide technical guidance to others. Ensure compliance with B&V quality programs; support continuous improvement, change management, and risk management. Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple projects; perform research and develop recommendations for equipment/materials; manage data collection and engineering work. Prepare complex engineering calculations; manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements; develop advanced engineering solutions; oversee task delegation and review lower-level work. Coordinate with internal/external teams on complex projects; define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines. Identify client interests and drivers and communicate them to the project team; develop approaches to address these in project performance. Support business development and pursuit activities as needed. Mentor lower and mid-level professionals and contribute to talent development. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience. Minimum of 11 years related work experience. Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record requirements (U.S. Professional Engineer License where applicable). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Project Lead experience in Data Center designs. Understanding of design risk factors for redundancy and resiliency; knowledge of data center tier systems. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM 360/Navisworks; experience with project phasing and complex families. Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and manage competing priorities; strong client-facing communication. Ability to lead projects including schedules, budgets, and staffing; support business development activities. Certifications Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record requirements for BV projects; U.S. Professional Engineer License as applicable. Work Environment/Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and work assignments.
