The Biology Department invites applications for a 10-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in microbiology or related fields. The successful candidate will join a community of biologists and mentor undergraduate research, with potential to mentor master’s students. They will develop and teach introductory and upper-level courses in microbiology, medical microbiology, immunology and/or parasitology. Collaborative scholarship is encouraged.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: Establishing and maintaining an externally funded research program that includes mentoring and publishing with student co-authors. Teaching introductory and upper-level microbiology, medical microbiology, immunology and/or parasitology in the Department of Biology. Option to develop other upper-level and/or graduate-level courses in their field of expertise. Mentoring undergraduate students in research and contributing to a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

Applicants should have: A Ph.D. in microbiology or a related field (e.g., medical microbiology, parasitology, immunology, mycology, virology). Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
