Overview

The Washington State Attorney General's Office (AGO) is recruiting for an Attorney Team Leader in the Regional Services Division in Vancouver. The position reports to Vancouver’s Section Chief and is one of three team leaders responsible for oversight of legal services in Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, Wahkiakum and Klickitat counties. The role is a full case carrying position supervising 5 AAGs and is a member of the RSD Vancouver Management Team. About the RSD/Vancouver Section

The Vancouver office includes 19 attorneys and 17 legal support professionals, providing representation through litigation and client advice. caseload includes hearings and trials in juvenile court, superior court, and administrative hearings under the Administrative Procedures Act, and cases appealed to the Court of Appeals and the Washington Supreme Court. Clients and cases are in Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, Wahkiakum and Klickitat counties. The office’s clients include: Department of Children, Youth and Families; Department of Social and Health Services; Department of Labor and Industries; Department of Employment Security; Department of Licensing; and local colleges and schools. Legal competency Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to make difficult decisions with strength and courage Flexibility and open, frequent communication Impeccable judgment Respect for diverse experiences, skills, and professional growth Current juvenile litigation experience *Juvenile litigation experience may be necessary; familiarity with DCYF work and recent trainings is preferred. Applicants must have graduated from an ABA-accredited law school or completed the WSBA Rule 6 Law Clerk Program and be licensed to practice law in Washington. This Team Leader position is represented by AWAAG/WFSE AFSCME Council 28. Salary range: $86,328 to $161,700, with exact amount per Appendix B of the AWAAG CBA.
