Professional Development & Performance Coordinator
Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a Professional Development & Performance Coordinator to join its Charlotte, NC office. This role supports attorney development and performance initiatives, including feedback systems, competency assessments, and practice-specific programs while implementing best practices in professional development to promote attorney growth, engagement, and performance improvement across the firm. Responsibilities
Feedback & Performance Management: Coordinate real-time feedback systems, ensuring smooth operations, analyzing trends, and identifying development needs. Collaborate with HR and practice teams to assess and address performance improvement opportunities. Administer and optimize the viSkills platform, providing user support and system maintenance. Maintain accurate documentation of competency frameworks, assessments, and related resources. Attorney Development & Programming: Support Attorney Development Committee initiatives and special projects. Plan and execute transition boot camps and academies for attorneys at key career progression points. Assist practice teams with implementing core competency frameworks and tracking associate development. Work with practice team managers to create and deliver targeted development programming, such as boot camps and lunch & learns. Business Planning & Collaboration: In partnership with practice group managers and the business development team, facilitate attorney business plan development in alignment with the annual review process. Coordinate cross-functional efforts to align development programming with strategic talent initiatives. Research & Continuous Improvement: Monitor legal industry trends and best practices to enhance attorney development programs. Recommend updates or enhancements based on research and internal feedback. Administrative & Budget Support: Track program expenses, monitor budget adherence, and contribute to annual budget planning. Ensure records, tools, and learning resources are organized and up to date. Professional Engagement & Compliance: Maintain strong working knowledge of firm policies and procedures. Represent the firm through active participation in professional development organizations such as NALP, CALPA, and PDC. Maintain regular in-person attendance for program delivery and attorney support. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional setting required; 3+ years’ experience in legal or professional services firm preferred. Experience with performance management systems and competency frameworks within the legal field desired. Experience applying adult learning methodologies to design and deliver professional development programs preferred. Proficiency using technology platforms for onboarding and integration purposes desired. Physical Requirements
The work is primarily sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
