Management of Social Media platforms for GNEM, including creating & posting content, monitoring sites to ensure appropriate engagement, and using various outlets to help market events and other outreach needs. Attend outreach and educational events to capture video and photo content and network with stakeholders. Design and create marketing and promotional materials for UGA’s GNEM. Create videos to be shared on a YouTube channel for both educational and marketing purposes. Videos can be linked or uploaded directly to other social media and websites for education and outreach. Assist faculty and graduate students with creation of figures and graphs for research publications and grant proposals. Other duties as assigned which would contribute to the success of sharing and promoting the work being done at GNEM. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Understand fundamental design principles including layout, composition, and visual hierarchy. Communicate design ideas effectively with faculty, staff, students and collaborators. Familiarity with social media outlets, online platforms, and digital marketing. Experience with a camera or recording device for photos and video. Identify and solve design problems creatively. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and online platforms for designing digital assets. Work simultaneously on multiple projects, each with a different deadline. Preferred Qualifications
Industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign. Typography principles, including font pairing, kerning, and leading. Familiarity with UGA Branding and the UGA Visual Style Guide when creating promotional assets. Physical Demands
Sitting or standing at a computer or other media device to design and create promotional materials and graphics for publications. Use of a camera or recording device for taking photos and video. Driving to perform job-related tasks. Is driving a responsibility of this position?
