Overview A Telecom Technician 3

will be working in a modular construction facility, prefabricating electrical module cabling, communication spaces, pre-terminating cables, pathways, and equipment. The technician is responsible for ensuring high-quality installation and performing quality inspections. Monitors task completion, compliance, and safety issues in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Oversees a crew of five or more assemblers. Requires experience installing equipment using hand tools and power tools, understanding of Telecom Systems, blueprints, and knowledge of codes and standards. The technician should aim to become a qualified BICSI Technician. This is a full-time position with company benefits. Responsibilities Knowledge of and safe use of hand tools and power tools Wearing required PPE and following safety policies and procedures Participating in daily safety and work briefings Installing various types of low voltage cable Inspecting, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting ISP/OSP telecommunications systems, including fiber optics and category cables, along with associated equipment and grounding systems Surveying and documenting existing telecommunications infrastructure Sketching rack and floor/wall elevations Participating in design reviews to ensure project quality and timeliness Installing and powering network equipment uplinks Calculating grounding, conduit, and raceway layouts Producing 4-week look-ahead plans for productivity, materials, and tracking Training and supervising apprentices, ensuring proper cable installation from TR to WAO Maintaining accurate as-built drawings and updating them weekly Performing quality assurance on team’s work Maintaining a clean work environment and securing tools/materials Travel up to 25%, domestic and international Qualifications 6+ years experience in commercial communications Minimum 18 years old High School diploma or GED Excellent safety record, valid driver’s license, clean driving record Pass background check and drug test Reliable transportation Ability to pass telecommunication knowledge test Experience reading plans and specifications Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills Punctuality and teamwork skills Proper attire: long pants and shirt covering shoulders Provision of basic tools from the company list before first day Abilities Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, demonstrating strength and stamina Can relocate a 12-foot ladder unaided Works at heights up to 60 feet, including scaffolds and aerial lifts Physical activities: walking, climbing, lifting, crawling, etc. Good vision (corrected if needed), color vision, hearing, and communication skills in English Can use ladders and recognize problems without solving them Logical reasoning and detail-oriented perception Desired Skills BICSI credentials, including Technician Manufacture Certifications and Fiber Certification Experience with Microsoft Office applications
