Part-Time Membership & Communications Coordinator (Maternity Leave Coverage)- Temple Emanu-El
Part Time Temple Emanu-El Remote Job Title : Part-Time Membership & Communications Coordinator (Maternity Leave Coverage) Reports to : Executive Director Hours : Minimum of 5 hours per week, with flexibility depending on needs Start Date : September 3, 2025 plus 2 training session week of Aug 4 Duration : 3 months Location : Remote Organization : Temple Emanu-El, Westfield NJ Compensation : $25/hour About Us Temple Emanu-El is a warm, inclusive, and vibrant Reform Jewish congregation committed to building meaningful connections through worship, learning, and community. We are seeking a thoughtful and proactive individual to provide temporary support for our membership and communications efforts while a member of our team is on maternity leave. Position Summary The Part-Time Membership & Communications Coordinator will support the general operations of our synagogue communications and membership. Experience in Jewish communal life and synagogue culture is a plus. Key Responsibilities Membership Support
Enter all new families joining the Temple into ShulCloud (membership database) and Monday.com (project management system). Provide general database support in ShulCloud, including updating member records, generating reports, and assisting with forms, lists, and communications as needed.
Communications
Draft and send weekly eblasts and general congregational emails. Create digital and print flyers, program materials, and social media images. Create event registration forms in Jotform and/or ShulCloud as needed. Serve as a backup for livestreaming events using Vimeo or Zoom.
Social Media
Post event highlights, promote upcoming programs, and other posts as relevant. Schedule pre-written social posts on a weekly basis but be prepared to adjust or unschedule them in response to current events.
Administration
Submit monthly credit card report. Assist with general High Holy Day inquiries and ticketing. Clip all High Holy Day sermons.
Qualifications
Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills. Familiarity with CRM (ShulCloud a plus) email marketing tools, website editors, and social media platforms. Experience with Canva for basic graphic design. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to evolving needs. Understanding of Jewish values, holidays, and synagogue life is highly desirable.
