Temple Sinai (www.templesinailv.org) is a Reform Jewish synagogue located in the family-friendly community of Summerlin in suburban Las Vegas, Nevada. The Temple Sinai campus is also home to the Shenker Academy, a premier early childhood school that prides itself on being pluralistic and diverse, serving children from six weeks through kindergarten.
Responsibilities
Advance congregational programs and events, and implement and maintain an ongoing brand, social media and communication strategy for Temple Sinai and Shenker Academy.
Develop and implement cohesive internal and external communications for a variety of channels, including websites, printed bulletin, weekly and event emails, flyers, news releases, and promotional videos.
Roll out a steady funnel of social media content and activation to promote Temple Sinai’s activities.
Update and maintain websites (Temple Sinai: Shulcloud; Shenker: WordPress).
Create and administer weekly E-blasts with staff input Friday Sinai Reflections, Sunday Shofar Weekly.
Coordinate and serve as point person for the synagogue’s printed Shofar newsletter.
Elevate Temple Sinai’s presence and engagement on social media platforms.
Write and submit articles to community publications (Las Vegas Israelite, Las Vegas Review-Journal, Las Vegas Sun, etc.) and draft and pitch news releases on notable activities to local and statewide media.
Coordinate print and digital publicity for Temple Sinai programs and events using available internal tools and platforms and by leveraging local partner resources.
Produce brief internal promotional videos for special events.
Create signage as needed for building and events.
Create text and graphics for event invitations, and coordinate printing and mailing with local printers/mail houses.
Create and maintain media contact lists as well as a VIP list for press releases and important event invitations.
Publish special materials as needed (Annual Report, Religious School brochure, New Member packet, etc.).
Coordinate public calendars and assist with general communications to members.
Program Support
Assist with existing events and programs as needed (special Shabbat celebrations, adult education classes, etc.).
Assist with special events (community seder, Temple Sinai fundraisers, new member Havdalah, congregational picnic, etc.).
Liaison with committees as appropriately requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications/marketing or related field preferred.
Two or more years of experience in a communications/marketing-related position; non-profit experience is strongly preferred.
Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
Experience in using all Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Constant Contact.
Proficiency in using Canva.
Experience in using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) preferred.
Experience in or ability to master ShulCloud, a synagogue-based database, website and accounting software.
Experience with social media platforms and analytics (Facebook, Instagram, X).
Experience with mail merges.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work effectively with a professional team and with lay leaders.
Positive attitude and a constructive approach to tasks and challenges, contributing to a positive workplace atmosphere.
Knowledge of and familiarity with the Jewish community preferred.
Compensation and Hours
$70k-90k based on experience.
Full-Time 40+ hours. Exact schedule to be determined with Executive Director on a weekly basis to accommodate the programming needs of the synagogue.
Paid Holidays and Vacation.
