Position: Director of Head Start/Early Head Start - Chadron
Full-time, Full-year, 40 hours a week – above .75% FTE Job Summary: Head Start/Early Head Start Director is responsible for assuring all Head Start Program mandates and standards for excellence are met on a daily basis. Plans, administers, monitors and maintains compliance with the Administration of Children, Youth and Families (ACYF), Head Start Act and Performance Standards and other applicable regulations as they relate to the Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Provide leadership, supervision and support to the management team and staff in implementing solid and successful programs and reviews. Responsibilities: Lead the strategic direction and daily operations of the Head Start/Early Head Start Program. Supervise and evaluate staff responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring key program components. Closely collaborate with NCAP administration to manage program budgets and ensure fiscal accountability. Ensure full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Proficient in the ability to write and manage grant proposals specific to Head Start programs. The ability to conduct and implement data from annual self and community assessments for Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Foster a constructive environment for staff and families, promoting open communication and continuous improvement. Promote a consistent exchange of information in all directions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Administration, Education Administration, Social Work, or a related field. 3-5 years of management experience in early childhood or social services. Must be a strategic thinker with experience in early childhood education leadership, program development and community engagement. Knowledge of financial operations (budgeting, federal grants, audits etc). Willingness to engage in constructive conflict, with strong skills in conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and adherence to Head Start standards and NCAP procedures. Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work as part of a team. Must pass all background checks per 45 CFR §1302.90(b) Valid driver’s license and be insurable through NCAP vehicle insurance plan with the ability to travel in the service area frequently. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Administration, Education Administration, Social Work, or a related field. Pay and Benefits:
