Overview
Marketing & Communications Specialist I with responsibilities in digital campaign management, web updates and project coordination, SEO/GEO monitoring, and building reports with actionable insights. Note: This position is considered “essential” and may require after-hours response and potential reporting to the Emergency Operations Center during crises, depending on the situation. Base pay range

Classification Title: Marketing & Communications Specialist I Job Description
Digital Campaign Management Strategize tactics and budget that effectively reach our target audiences. Brainstorm campaign/content ideas to promote in paid digital channels. Collaborate with the Marketing Copywriter to ensure all copy meets platform specifications. Curate images for ads. Collaborate with video and design teams for advanced ad assets. Align digital campaigns with SCM’s overarching marketing campaigns in partnership with the Senior Marketing Specialist. Set up digital ads (e.g., native, display, social, video). Monitor digital ad performance to ensure campaigns meet benchmarks and goals, and optimize spend. Web Updates and Project Coordination Edit/update websites in a timely manner. Coordinate with the Director to manage web projects for SCM. Manage communications between SCM and UFIT’s web and infrastructure teams. Represent SCM at project meetings and capture requirements and action items clearly for the team. Manage deadlines to ensure projects are completed on time. Provide guidance on user experience and web usability best practices. Conduct research to inform web project strategies. Maintain and improve web project management processes within the department. Ensure consistent quality across all web projects and that websites meet UF’s digital, accessibility, and brand standards. Monitor site health via analytics and address issues such as broken links or engagement anomalies with content or design tweaks. SEO/GEO Monitoring Monitor rankings in search engines and appearances in generative AI platforms. Monitor off-page SEO signals and implement optimization updates. Track SEO health using platforms such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and SEMrush. Collaborate with content writers to optimize on-page content. Coordinate with SEO vendors to ensure timely reports and recommendations. Building Reports and Actionable Insights Help establish KPIs for marketing campaigns and web performance. Create routine reports for paid campaigns and websites; assess performance against benchmarks and KPI thresholds. Provide data-based observations and recommendations to maintain or improve performance. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related area and two years of relevant experience; Associate’s degree and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience managing paid digital marketing campaigns, proficiency in web and digital analytics, website editing, and a strong background in SEO and GEO. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area plus 2 years of digital marketing and web marketing experience Previous project management experience Experience using WYSIWYG editors Proven experience in analytics and creating reports with actionable recommendations Understanding of best practices for web and digital accessibility Understanding of SEO and GEO best practices Excellent organizational and time management skills Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Sense of urgency and strong attention to detail Able to multitask and perform under tight deadlines Experience with off-site SEO Experience working on GEO Proficiency using CMS platforms such as WordPress or TerminalFour Working knowledge of HTML/CSS Special Instructions To Applicants
