Generic Specialist Practitioner - Specialist Nurse - Respiratory As part of a multidisciplinary / multiagency team, the post holder will manage a specialist caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire. You will contribute to the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity, contribute to the supervision, education and development of members of the multidisciplinary team and provide effective leadership within scope of role. Responsibilities

Manage a specialist caseload within the agreed scope of the role. Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and contribute to service development and improvement activities. Contribute to clinical audit and research activity relevant to the speciality. Supervise, educate and develop members of the multidisciplinary team as appropriate. Provide effective leadership within the defined scope of the role. Requirements / Qualifications

Registered Nurse or AHP with valid NMC / HCPC Registration Educated to Degree Level Post graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards Expertise within speciality / area of practice demonstrating breadth of knowledge to lead safety, effectively and efficiently Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice; may include non-medical prescribing where required Leadership skills for day to day management of service delivery Continuous Professional Development in the area of speciality (study days/courses/post graduate qualification) Excellent team-working, leadership, listening, communication and interpersonal skills Effective time management and working knowledge of basic information technology Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence Please note: for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
