As a

Safety Advocate

with Nekoosa, you will be a driving force in building a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility across our Wisconsin manufacturing sites. You will collaborate with plant operations and the Corporate EHS team to ensure regulatory compliance, strengthen employee wellness initiatives, and lead proactive safety practices that protect our people and our environment. Your leadership will directly influence operational excellence and help maintain Nekoosa’s reputation as a safe, sustainable, and people-focused workplace. What You’ll Be Doing: Lead site-level wellness initiatives and deliver regular health, safety, and environmental communications to employees. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, ANSI, and all federal, state, and local safety regulations. Provide multi-site safety leadership by promoting a proactive, behavior-based safety culture. Conduct safety inspections, incident investigations, and data analysis to drive continuous improvement. Manage the incident reporting system and ensure accurate documentation of injuries, near misses, and compliance records. Support environmental compliance by maintaining permits, reporting requirements, and chemical safety programs. Partner with plant teams and project managers to evaluate safety risks in capital projects and implement effective mitigation strategies. You’ll Bring: Associate’s degree in Safety Management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) roles, with OSHA or equivalent certification preferred. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and ANSI regulations. Ability to work independently while building collaborative partnerships across multiple sites. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with mechanical and chemical safety practices. Willingness to travel up to 20%. We Can Offer You: Benefits are the game changer!
