The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is a premier educational institution that values academic excellence, research, and community engagement. This role supports the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (EMSA) by developing and executing communication plans to enhance the student lifecycle, including enrollment, retention, and persistence. The position leverages CRM systems and other channels to engage students and support their academic journeys. The salary range is $50,359 - $64,979 annually, with typical starts around $50,500; compensation is commensurate with experience. This position is exempt from FLSA overtime provisions. Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day execution of EMSA communication outreach efforts in alignment with UCCS Communications goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement enrollment, retention, and persistence outreach and communications. Support the achievement of key communication goals focused on student journeys, enrollment, retention, persistence, and engagement. Monitor and manage communications across channels (websites, email, social media, CRM, apps, texting platforms). Support the implementation of a communication matrix with timing, audience, channels, and supporting teams. Ensure CRM communications are current and functioning for assigned workflows; collect feedback and adjust as needed. Supervise student employees and assist with updating the Strategic Enrollment Planning and Outreach website as directed. Adhere to FERPA, HIPAA, CAN-SPAM, and accessibility regulations. Provide support to the Chief Strategist as needed. Student Outreach and Engagement
Collaborate with the Nearpeer coordinator to implement campaigns that enhance peer connections and student engagement. Deploy and track two-way text outreach campaigns to support student engagement and access to resources. Analyze campaign performance and adjust outreach strategies accordingly. Stakeholder Collaboration
Build and maintain relationships with EMSA colleagues, University Marketing, and University Information Services. Assist in needs assessments and focus groups to understand student outreach needs and report findings. Provide updates to stakeholders on initiatives and outcomes; represent the department on committees and at events as directed. Timelines

Bachelor’s degree in a related field at time of hire (or Year-for-year experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or higher education administration as a substitution). Experience in developing communications strategies across digital platforms (web, social, email, text). Experience managing multiple projects and collecting/reporting data to assess effectiveness of communications. Experience with professional standards related to communication and accessibility. Proficiency in editing and proofreading; knowledge of grammar, syntax, and style guides. Experience with website management (Drupal preferred). Experience with communication technologies and platforms including CRM systems (Slate preferred). Experience with report writing and database queries (Slate, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, Cognos) preferred. Benefits
