Overview

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health and the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation is seeking a Family Medicine physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine to join our team. This position includes primary care at the UW Health Verona Family Medicine Clinic and sports medicine care at UW Sports Medicine. This position will be involved in teaching residents, medical students, and other learners. This position will include academic scholarly work. Responsibilities

Clinical care in primary care and sports medicine settings; management of a primary care patient panel Inpatient and teaching/supervision of residents, medical students, and other learners Serve as a team physician for the Wisconsin Badgers in the Division of Sports Medicine and potential other team physician roles with preprofessional and professional sports teams in the Madison area Teaching occurs in clinical settings, on the sidelines of sports events, and in formal scheduled learning sessions Time and resources are provided to promote scholarly work in the candidate's areas of interest Participation in residency faculty call schedule and coverage of inpatient medicine/pediatrics as assigned Daytime, evening, and weekend coverage of sports events year-round, including some travel for away games and tournaments Attendance at required departmental meetings and performance of administrative duties as necessary to support clinical and scholarly missions May include nursing home visits Opportunities to collaborate on initiatives within UW-SMPH & UW Health Qualifications

Wisconsin medical license, or eligible for license by start date of position Board-certified by American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) by start date Board-certified (CAQ) in Sports Medicine by start date Completion of an accredited US Family Medicine residency by start date Completion of an accredited Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship by start date Onsite work at a designated campus location This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years Titles for this position may include Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor; title determined by experience and qualifications of the finalist
