The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) of the University of Miami invites applications for an Assistant Scientist position in Climate/Physical Oceanography. The incumbent will work with scientists in the Physical Oceanography Division of the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and in direct collaboration with scientists at RSMAS.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with scientists in the Physical Oceanography Division of AOML/NOAA and directly with scientists at RSMAS.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in Climate/Physical Oceanography or related field.
At least one year of equivalent experience.
Interest and working experience in analysis of observational data for ocean and climate variability studies.
Highly desirable: knowledge of Unix and MATLAB.
Good record of scientific publications, and strong commitment to attracting external funding.
