Job Overview – Tax Senior Analyst (Funds): Compensation: $110,000 – $135,000/year + bonus Location: New York, NY Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office) Atlantic Group is hiring a Tax Senior Analyst (Funds) in New York, NY, on behalf of our client. In this role, you will manage tax compliance, investor reporting, and ASC 740 provisions for REITs and private funds while ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also support REIT testing, fund-level tax analysis, due diligence, and portfolio tax records, while driving automation and process improvements. Responsibilities
Tax Compliance:
Oversee day-to-day compliance by preparing workpapers, reviewing federal, state, and local returns, and managing estimates and extensions for REITs, subsidiaries, and private funds.
Investor Reporting:
Support tax reporting for investors, including allocations, Schedule K-1s, withholding, and disclosures.
Fund-Level Analysis:
Collaborate with tax and accounting teams on taxable income calculations, REIT/40 Act testing, E&P analysis, and disclosures for monthly and quarterly reporting.
Tax Provision:
Prepare ASC 740 workpapers, accruals, and disclosures while maintaining accurate audit documentation.
Debt Instruments:
Perform tax amortization and accretion calculations, analyzing cash flows and supporting documentation for debt instruments.
Systems & Process Improvement:
Maintain tax basis portfolio records, support automation, and assist with system implementations and new deal integration.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Certification:
CPA strongly preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years of tax experience in public accounting or asset management, with mortgage-backed securities, REITs, and private funds strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software required, with familiarity in fund accounting systems and automation tools preferred.
Industry Knowledge:
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax compliance, ASC 740, and REIT tax regulations.
Skills & Attributes:
Detail-oriented and analytical with strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
