A position is available for a Bench Scientist with hands-on experience in liquid-handling automation to support hit-to-lead discovery of large molecule therapeutics at Pfizer. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and executing biochemical and cell-based functional assays—leveraging technologies such as ELISA, FACS, HTRF, and high-throughput screening—to drive biologics discovery. This role requires strong expertise in assay development, cell culture, and data analysis, as well as a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset to innovate and optimize screening strategies. We are looking for a creative, solution-oriented individual who enjoys the opportunity to explore new methods.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design and execution of experiments using a variety of detection technologies that may include HTRF, ELISA/DELFIA, FACS, and cell-based functional assays focused on signaling, proliferation, or cytotoxicity
Establishing binding and functional assays to support hit-to-lead discovery of large molecule therapeutics
Designing and executing biochemical and cell-based functional assays
High-throughput screening to support the biologics portfolio
Analyzing data, presenting results at internal meetings, and closely collaborating with project team members to develop strategies and identify lead molecules
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience
Assay Design/Validation and Data QC
Excellent cell culture experience, ability to maintain multiple lines in parallel
High Throughput Screening including use of automation including Beckman I series.
Experience with assay technologies including ELISA, FACS, cell-based reporter assays, AlphaLISA and cytotoxicity.
Familiarity with analysis programs such as GeneData Screener and GraphPad Prism, and LIMS programs such as GeneData Biologics.
Location/Schedule:
This is a fully onsite role in Cambridge, MA
Monday - Friday: 40 hours per week
