Our Team provides Unix infrastructure products and services built and maintained to customer specific requirements. This includes life cycle management (administration, security management, operational support, and strategic planning) to provide customer support, operational efficiencies, and technological insight. We support the I/S vision by providing a secure and reliable environment that limits downtime and meets contractual SLAs, supporting over 300 technologies across three Unix OS types; we utilize In-Place Upgrades to improve operational efficiency. Duties
Focuses on server operations across multiple platforms with concentration in providing functional and empirical technical analysis related to the server infrastructure. 25% Analyzes server workload, including traffic and utilization trends. Provides analytical support to team members during development and implementation. May provide training on hardware and/or software use. 25% Compile and analyze operational data and direct tests to establish standards for new designs or modifications. Test and verify servers and support peripherals to ensure they meet specifications by recording and analyzing test data. 25% Confer with technical specialists to evaluate hardware/software interfaces and performance requirements. Interface with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors for guidance on new technology and installation requirements. 10% Ensure compliance with audit requirements. Address vulnerabilities within audit-mandated time frames. Maintain security/backup and disaster recovery processes and systems. 10% Monitor server performance and update processes and procedures documentation as needed. 5% Keep knowledge and skills updated to keep up with rapid advancements in server technology. Advanced technical knowledge of server, communications, and related hardware and software; strong understanding of technical problems and solutions in relation to current and future business environments.
