Job Purpose: Under supervision of the controller, the senior accountant will lead all daily, monthly, and annual tasks for the finance department. Responsible for answering fiscal questions professionally and timely for leadership decision making. Provides excellent customer service to management, employees, and external businesses. Handles all accounting operations with confidentiality. Understands and implements WCHC mission in all activities. Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for oversight of all month-end closing duties including review of accounts payable, journal vouchers, cash receipts, and cash disbursements. Responsible for reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts monthly. Distributes financial reports to department managers after each month-end close. Provides excellent customer service when answering fiscal questions. Reviews general ledger monthly to ensure accuracy of accounting entries throughout fiscal year. For internal control purposes, reviews entries the controller makes in accounting system which includes budget, budget amendments, and journal vouchers. Assists controller with preparation of the annual budget. Prepares financial dashboard monthly for finance committee and board of directors. Leads the annual financial audit. Delegates tasks for staff to complete under direction of the controller. Verifies accuracy of each item presented for audit. Prepares quarterly break-even analysis reports for patient facing departments Prepares year-to-date overhead allocation analyses at least semi-annually at managers meetings. Reviews payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Serves as a backup for payroll processing, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and timely. Participates in ad hoc projects as directed by the controller including the annual Medicare cost report, HRSA On Site Visit, annual 401K audit, and HRSA Service Area Competition (SAC) application. Seeks opportunities for professional development. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required Two years of Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) accounting experience highly preferred Non-violent crisis intervention training class completed within 6 months of hire BLS certification obtained within 6 months of hire Immunizations Required
TB test (upon hire) Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a desk working at a computer Able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Able to travel as needed Benefits
