The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) in Connecticut has an exciting opportunity for

Seasonal Resource Assistants

to support the Land Acquisition and Management Unit with administrative tasks and fieldwork related to the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program. Position details: Based at DEEP Headquarters in Hartford. Perform in-office administrative and analytical tasks. Conduct site inspections and fieldwork statewide using State vehicles. This role offers hands-on experience in grant compliance, land management, and fieldwork on a nationally recognized federal grant program. Key duties include: Site visits and inspections for grant compliance. Using GPS and paper maps to inspect site boundaries. Recording findings with GPS technology in the field. Coordinating with DEEP and municipal staff for fieldwork. Reviewing documents and administrative work. Preparing inspection reports for supervisors. These positions are Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, not exceeding 1,040 hours or 6 months in duration. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Ability to follow instructions. Preferred qualifications: Experience in fieldwork and recording site data. Proficiency in report writing and data summarization. Willingness to drive long distances or hike several miles daily. Ability to work in variable weather and conditions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, GPS, ArcGIS, and AGOL systems. Physical requirements: Must possess and maintain adequate physical strength and stamina for the duties.
