Overview
Position Title: Branch Accountant
Location: Chino, California Industry: Wholesale and Retail E-Commerce Employment Type: Full-Time
The Branch Accountant will serve as the primary financial steward for the Chino branch, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with applicable regulations, and alignment with corporate accounting standards. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional capable of managing branch-level financial operations, supporting inventory reconciliation, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive fiscal accountability across wholesale and retail channels. Reports to the Branch General Manager.
Responsibilities Financial Management
Maintain accurate and timely general ledger entries and reconcile branch-level accounts
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Monitor cash flow, perform bank reconciliations, and oversee petty cash administration
Process journal entries, accruals, amortizations, and other period-end adjustments
Accounts Payable and Receivable
Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments
Manage customer billing, collections, and reconciliation of outstanding balances
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between payments and account records
Inventory and Cost Accounting
Collaborate with warehouse and procurement teams to reconcile inventory records
Track and allocate landed costs, freight charges, and product margins
Support cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting
Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal tax regulations, including sales tax filings
Maintain documentation for internal controls and financial procedures
Assist with internal and external audits as required
Strategic Collaboration
Partner with e-commerce and retail operations to align financial reporting with sales performance
Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, promotional planning, and vendor negotiations
Contribute to branch-level budgeting and forecasting processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within wholesale, retail, or e-commerce sectors
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or comparable ERP systems
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling
Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost analysis
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Preferred Competencies
Experience with multi-channel retail platforms (e.g., Amazon, Shopify)
Familiarity with California-specific tax and labor regulations
Bilingual proficiency (English/Mandarin) is advantageous
