Police Department Hours:

12-hour shifts with alternating weekends off, scheduled as needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays Starting Salary Range: $61,200 to $71,200 (DOQ) Bi-weekly pay periods Eligible for Overtime (OT) PTO, Training, & Certification Pay 15 paid holidays per year 80 hours of vacation per year (increases after five years) 8 hours of floating personal time per fiscal year (Oct. 1–Sept. 30) 8 hours of sick time per month Paid training Certification pay for Intermediate, Advanced, and Master Peace Officer Certifications Full coverage of base plan premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees

No-cost group term life insurance, including AD&D and short- and long-term disability No-cost CareFlite subscription for household members FSA / HSA / HRA options for eligible employees Scheduling 12-hour shifts with alternating weekends off Must be willing and available for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Reports To Patrol Sergeant >> Assistant Chief >> Chief of Police Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Valid Texas Driver’s License (or ability to obtain) Physically sound and free from defects affecting police duties Pass extensive background check, psychological test, medical exam, and drug screen Successful completion of PPD's field training program Not dishonorably discharged from military service Necessary visual acuity for computer and vehicle operation Ability to walk, stand, sit, or run for prolonged periods Ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds occasionally Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist Operate office equipment including a computer keyboard Applications can be mailed or submitted in person to: Pantego Town Hall ATTN: Human Resources 1614 S Bowen Road Pantego, TX 76013 Include a completed application; resumes are appreciated but will not be reviewed unless submitted with an application.
