Payroll Specialist Overview: Our client, a growing organization in the hospitality industry, is seeking a detail-oriented
Payroll Specialist
to manage accurate and timely payroll processing for a multi-state workforce. This role offers the opportunity to support a dynamic, service-driven environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams in HR, Finance, and Operations. Experience with
Paylocity
is a plus but not required. Key Responsibilities: Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Partner with HR and Operations to maintain accurate employee data, including time and attendance, new hires, terminations, and pay changes
Administer payroll adjustments including bonuses, retroactive pay, garnishments, and manual checks
Review payroll reports to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed
Support tax filings and year-end processes, including W-2 issuance
Assist with payroll audits and provide reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll in a timely and professional manner
Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume, multi-state environment
Hospitality industry experience is a strong plus
Familiarity with
Paylocity
is preferred but not required
Solid understanding of payroll best practices and wage & hour laws
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related tools
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
