Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a highly organized and experienced
Multi-state Payroll Specialist
to join our client's dynamic team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing on a bi-weekly and monthly basis. This role ensures payroll functions are executed efficiently, in alignment with relevant labor laws and internal policies. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with HR, benefits, finance, and compliance teams to support multi-state payroll integrity and continuous improvement. Direct Hire Paying:
70,000-85,000K range Schedule / Environment / Perks:

Execute accurate and timely payroll processing for multiple business units across various states. Ensure all employee pay data is up-to-date, including onboarding details, separations, direct deposit updates, tax elections, and deductions. Manage all aspects of wage garnishments, levies, and other mandatory payroll deductions. Oversee and support timekeeping systems, including schedule configuration, user permissions, hardware maintenance, and employee training. Generate, review, and reconcile payroll reports; support accounting functions through general ledger input and period-end reporting. Keep current on all state and federal payroll regulations and adjust internal processes as needed to maintain compliance. Assist in the planning and execution of payroll audits, year-end tax filings, and W-2 issuance. Provide clear and timely responses to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and discretion. Collaborate with HR and other departments to streamline payroll workflows and develop standardized procedures. Continuously assess and enhance payroll processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery. Take on other responsibilities or special projects as needed. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Experience:
7+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience.
